About this tour:
This tour takes you through the world-famous historical sites of Greece, then onto Egypt's Grand Pyramids and the many ancient tombs and temples along the Nile. Your journey starts in Athens with the most prominent archeological site and symbol of the country, the world-famous Acropolis. Then, onto Delphi, with its many sanctuaries and the most sacred oracle in ancient Greece.
Continue to the fascinating Meteora, one of the world's greatest monuments, protected by UNESCO, and Greece's most important monastic center.
Once in Egypt, marvel at the Pyramids & Sphinx, then sail the Nile, discovering Egypt's world-famous treasures along the Nile, such as the Valley of the Kings, Karnak & Luxor, and Philae Island.

Itinerary

Board your International flight to Athens; we offer departures from most major Cities in the USA and Canada.
You need a valid Canadian or American Passport; it must be valid for six to eight months from your exact return date.
Arrive at the Athens airport, welcome assistance, and transfer to your Athen's Hotel.

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your day with a panoramic tour of the most important monuments and landmarks of Athens, including the Panathinaikon stadium, the Zappeion, the temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Syntagma square, the Parliament, the tomb of the unknown soldier, Schliemann's house, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and the old Parliament. Next, a guided visit to the Acropolis, including the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon, and the Erechtheion. Later, continue with a guided visit to the Acropolis Museum. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city at your own pace.

After breakfast, depart northwards towards Delphi, which used to be the most sacred place in the ancient world; admire the Sanctuary of Apollo, and walk the Sacred way to the Pythia (the Oracle). Cross the mountains of central Greece to arrive in Kalambaka on time for dinner.

Breakfast at your Hotel. Start your sightseeing with a visit to the famous Meteora Monasteries. Fantastic rock formations, like sandstone towers, stand ageless and have provided sacred retreats for monks over the centuries. The view over the plain is breathtaking. Meteora is considered among the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece.
Return to Athens with a stop at Thermopylae to admire the statue of Leonidas, king of Sparta.
